Ferrari Faces Legal Action For Brake Defects Amid Over $200,000 Luxury Sport Car 

Ferrari NV, renowned for its luxury sports cars, is under legal scrutiny in the United States.

A class-action lawsuit filed in San Diego federal court accuses them of negligence in addressing a dangerous safety defect related to brakes in certain models.

The lawsuit claims that Ferrari’s recalls were merely temporary fixes for the brake issues, leaving many drivers with unsafe vehicles.

Iliya Nechev, a California resident and Ferrari owner reported brake problems in his 2010 Ferrari 458 Italia, which he purchased in 2020. Despite recalls, Nechev experienced incidents of partial or complete loss of braking capability.

Incident Account On Ferrari

Nechev recounted a harrowing incident where his Ferrari failed to slow down while driving downhill at 50 miles per hour, leading to a near-miss during a sharp turn.

Despite reporting the issue to the dealer, he was told it was “normal.”

Ferrari’s Response

Ferrari stated that their October 2021 recall addressed a brake fluid leak issue affecting models from 2010 to 2019.

They emphasized their commitment to safety but face accusations of failing to disclose the full extent of the defect.

Robert Bosch GmbH, the manufacturer of faulty parts, is also named in the lawsuit. The complaint includes documented accidents in various countries attributed to brake failure.

Legal Proceedings On Ferrari

The case, titled Nechev v. Ferrari North America Inc., is filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of California. Bosch declined to comment on the ongoing legal proceedings.

The lawsuit raises concerns about Ferrari’s transparency regarding safety issues. Customers are urged to prioritize thorough inspections, and those affected may seek legal recourse.
