PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has taken to his social media to congratulate Ademola Adeleke on his victory at the appeal court.
He wrote” I am delighted to extend my warmest congratulations to you, Governor Ademola Adeleke, on your well-deserved victory at the Appeal Court, which upheld your election as the Governor of Osun State.
“This is not only a victory for you and the people of Osun State but also a testament to the resilience of our democratic system.
Once again, congratulations on this hard-fought victory, and I wish you every success in your tenure as Governor. -AA”
After annulling the July 16 Osun State governorship poll results, the tribunal held that the Independent National Electoral Commission did not comply with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as well as the Electoral Act as amended.
However Gov. Ademola didn’t agree with the tribunal and the case was taken to court.
Ademola Adeleke was pronounced governor on the 24th March, 2023 by the appeal court after he won the case.
