Breaking: Population Census Postponed

The Federal Government of Nigeria has postponed the 2023 population census to May 2023.

This was made known today by the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, during the executive council meeting chaired by the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.)

Recall that the National Population Commission was scheduled to hold from March 29 to April 2 2023, in all the 774 local government areas in Nigeria.

It has been 17 years since the last Population Census was conducted in Nigeria.

Population Census is normally conducted every ten years with the aim of finding out the total number of people in a country in order to determine their spatial distribution, age and sex structure, and other key social and economic characteristics
