On Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 7 a.m., President Muhammadu Buhari will make a national broadcast.
This was revealed in a statement issued late Wednesday night by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
He stated that television stations, radio stations, and other electronic media outlets must connect to the network services of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Radio Nigeria in order to broadcast.
Naijakiosk recalls that President Buhari had asked Nigerians to give his government one week before the February 10 deadline to resolve the issues caused by the scarcity of Naira notes.
However, with the deadline passed and the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, insisting that there was no going back, the presidency has fallen silent.
Efforts by some state governments to obtain a reprieve from the Supreme Court were also futile, as the CBN remained steadfast in its stance despite the apex court’s ex parte order.
